The icon of the Mother of God taking down the inert body of her son- Saviour. Expressiveness in working the fragment of Jesus points to inert body gradually losing its firmness. The mother is full of strength and life with abundant gentleness and an indication of seductiveness. Erotic tension and the living body interwoven with the dead body frame a different view of the iconic Christian scene.
